Colbys Sweet Joleen APHA #583953 2000 Chestnut Mare

Colby's Sweet Joleen came to our farm in 2001 from Thompson, PA. She is a 14.1h sorrel breeding stock paint with three socks and a blaze. She is easy to handle and has a very willing personality. Colby was very lightly started under saddle as a three year old but foundered shortly after that, so riding plans were put on hold. She has not had any other bouts of founder and she is pasture kept, so we keep an eye on the temp of her hooves in the spring and fall to make sure they stay cool. She is sound and barefoot. She does have a few vices. She chew wood when bored and she can be difficult when she is first put in a stall (mostly pacing and pawing). She is the middle mare in the herd and has pastured with a stallion as well as other mares/foals/weanlings. We never took the time to restart her and have focused mainly on breeding her because she throws really nice foals. She is a wonderful mother and has a habit of foaling in the early afternoon.
In 2004, Colby was bred to the Cremello stud, Vannie Glo Lucky and produced an adorable palomino colt with four socks and a blaze, Colby Glo Lucky. In 2008, Colby was bred to Reflecting Merle, a black and white overo paint stallion from Annville, PA. In the middle of the afternoon, right as I was ready to leave for work (again!!) Colby foaled an sweet little black filly with three socks and a blaze. Cats Eternal Flame is her mother's daughter, complete with amazing temperment and willingness to please. Colby has been exposed to our 2004 APHA stallion, Dancers Skipper Boy for a 2011 apha foal.
